Old Alleynians II - League

The game got off to a difficult start, with the LOBs conceding three early goals, all stemming from unmarked headers and lapses in defensive concentration. The team struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages but gradually began to settle into the game. However, just as they started to gain a foothold, the opposition struck again on the counter to make it 4–0 before the half-time whistle.

After a strong team talk from Frankie during the break, the LOBs came out with renewed energy and purpose. The response was immediate, Frankie himself led by example, calmly slotting home after beating the keeper in a one-on-one. Moments later, Isaac added a second with a composed finish, showing real quality in the final third.

Unfortunately, the opposition weren’t content to sit back, determined to “defend their pride.” They regained control and added three more goals before full-time, sealing a convincing 7–2 victory.

Despite the scoreline, there were positives to take. The second-half performance showed spirit, better organisation, and flashes of attacking threat, encouraging signs as the LOBs turn their attention to the Dunn Cup next week.
